The difficulty here is - there is nothing, not dancing, not fertilizer, not fine herbs and spices, that can, in my very humble opinion … make broccoli (or cauliflower) taste good.
It’s fun to think something could … but it can’t! On that, George HW Bush and I were in total agreement.
Your essay makes me want to dance while eating organic broccoli. Nicely done! Off topic slightly, as a child my favorite food was broccoli. Didn’t make me popular, but I don’t think I cared…
Beautifully written, as always. I was dancing along with you and eating the broccoli and enjoying the bees! I love your comparison of humans to bees, we are all just storytellers in the end. So insightful.
How do you take science and turn it into optimism, weave it into a beautiful story, educate us, and promote other articles full of encouragement? You have a perfect formula here. And your pictures are pure happiness.
Potatoes : sweet or russet can be easily organic grown in a backyard large pot and reap rewards of their nutritional benefits. Weeds are many that one should identify and learn to harvest their nutrients. Centuries ago they were consumed for food. Now poisons pumped on then.
Love this joyful sharing of your organic farm visit.
I am quite passionate about organic farming and purchase organics exclusively. The included link is a group of organic farmers I support who are the original certifiers of the USDA's organic program. Disappointment about the government agency's favoritism toward big ag caused them to break and create their own certification. They are especially dismayed hydroponics has organic certification when it's not grown in soil.
I love the idea of you all dancing together and making the broccoli taste its best!
I've always been fascinated by the bees' waggle dance...
Thanks for mentioning my article, I should use Freecycle more to be honest.
My friend has shared with me that some growers play music to their tomatoes. 🤷🏻♀️
Happy to find you here, Juliet!
Your comment reminds me that I've read something about playing music to plants, I'll need to look that up.

You've got to try it at this particular farm with this particular dance. Perhaps a conversion would happen.🤣
Dear lady, I will try it yet again, in your presence, if given the opportunity.
… my mother had a rule, you see. If we didn’t like something, we had to try it five friggen times until we could pass on it!
Can you imagine?
Love this, all of it. Thank you.
Good to hear 🐝

Funny, my kid loves broccoli, too. She could eat it every day.
I like your kid!
Thank you for poetically sharing valuable information. The photography is stunning.
Thanks : )
Some of the photos were taken by my young daughter, who is already more familiar with my phone’s portrait and close-up modes than I am.

Potatoes grow pretty easily and abundantly that way, don't they? We've only tried in small amounts. They will grow in my compost, too!
